Openpkg uuid and platform files - used?

Hi all,

Does kolab makes use of the files:

/kolab/etc/openpkg/uuid
/kolab/etc/openpkg/platform

I'm moving our kolab build from Debian to CentOS. From

ht
tp://wiki.kolab.org/index.php/Backups_for_kolab2

it is recommended that the entire /kolab/etc directory is
saved, however it
doesn't explicitly suggest that these backups are suitable
for migration.

The openpkg are both unique to the build, as far as I can
tell. I'm not too
worried about the platform file, seeing as how both machines
are running x86
linux installs but the uuid file is (according to the
openpkg documentation)
simply a unique identifier.

Is this file used in kolab? I've built the new server from
a clean install.
Is there any reason to keep one or the other uuid file?

Thanks and regards

Simon Barrett

I suppose the uuid help theOpenpkg team to provide support
on
systems even if their name or their IP is changing.
Leave them files alone!
