Hi Joon,

Thanks for taking time to step in. In the meantime, I've
found a way to
reliably reproduce the problem in my environment. I'll
explain it below.

Well, there is no folder named Kalender as I've written
before. There is
only one calendar folder named Calendar on the server. The
folder was
created by Kontact.

Well, I agree. The folder has been created by another client
(Kontact). What
I don't understand and why I insist on a change is OL
treats the folder
correctly at the beginning but at some points creates some
kind of a shadow
instance of the folder.

Okay, here is what is happening reproducible on my system:

I have a Kolab 2 account. I use Kontact running on OpenSuse
10 / KDE 3.5.x
(x=2 ATM) to manage that Kolab account.
The groupware folders are named Calendar, Contacts, Tasks
and Notes. The
(default) annotations are correctly set as can be seen using
cyradm:

localhost> info INBOX/Calendar
{INBOX/Calendar}:
  lastupdate: 6-Apr-2006 16:27:51 +0200
  partition: default
  size: 720963
  folder-test: true
  folder-type: event.default
  h-share-uid: gunglosp-dd.de

On another system, I'm using a German WinXP (latest SP)
plus OL 2002 (latest
fixes installed) plus Toltec Connector 2.0.x (x>=6). I
have an empty PST
(personal folders / Persoenliche Ordner). I decide to use
the Connector
with a new PST file. I connect it to my Kolab 2 account and
sync all
folders and their contents to that PST.

After that, I end up with a folder named Calendar containing
all events
which I can see in Kontact as well. I can manage the events
(add a new
event in the week view, delete existing events) and sync the
changes to the
server. Changes in Kontact are sync'ed back correctly as
well.
Until here, the world is fine as I can deal with the one and
only OL folder
Calendar corresponding to the IMAP folder Calendar on the
server.

Now it's getting funny. I create an event and try to invite
another person.
I look up the free-busy data of that person. No matter if I
add the event
or discard it, suddenly a new OL folder named Kalender
appears. On the
folder, there is still only the one IMAP folder named
Calendar. Both of the
folders sync their contents against the IMAP folder
Calendar. So it's a
question of the latest sync point in time, if both folders
show the same or
different contens.
Whatever I've tried I still end up with the one IMAP folder
on the server. I
can't delete the Kalender folder in OL because it's
treated as primary
calendar. If I delete the Calender folder in OL, I loose the
IMAP folder
leaving the Kalender folder in OL in a dubious state.

I hope this explanation makes it possible for others to
reproduce the
problem. The interesting piece is certainly OL when it lets
the new shadow
folder appear after I access some free-busy information.
Perhaps you'll
haave a chance to find the cause of that based on my
explanations.

Best regards,
Andreas

Hi Andreas,

The behavior of the folder synchronization after the new
folder arrives I
can explain. It is part of the normal mechanism.

The issue is however the new folder that shows up. This
looks like a Outlook
bug, we never set the default calendar marker in the PST
file. This is set
by whatever creates the second folder as we still
synchronize both folders
to the same IMAP4 mailbox.

Is it possible that you can try the sequence of events
without Toltec and
the IMAP4 server. Are you running any other plugin or
Outlook related
software?

Best regards
