We normally use one packet of fortifier per 25 ml of EBM

Pam, I am going to ask a question of what is the dose of
fortifier per ml of
EBM? Why should the EBM be wasted verses the fortifier?
Fortifiers use to be measured out when mixed prior to these
packets, correct?
I know the packets make it easier and more convenient for
the nurses to make
up the feedings but the emphasis needs to be on how
difficult it is for a
mother to express her milk and keep this up. I would like
to see the hard data
that states that EBM that had fortifier added has to be
discarded right
away. Logically it would seem that the mixed milk should be
good at least 24
hours in well controlled refrigerator.
Interested in what others say.
