Perhaps there are more women working in medicin and nursing,
the model is male dominated.

where 7 out of 9
OB's are female as are all our CNM's.Three out of our 4
pediatric
hospitalists are women and in the immediate surrounding

than 50% of the pediatricians are female as well.
In fact, our hospital has a large percentage of women
physicians anyway. I
think if you look at the numbers (and I am sure one of you
may do so),
women make up a large percentage of the physician
populations in a lot of
geographical areas.
So, I am thinking that while in the past, medicine was
dominated largely
by men, I don't perceive that to be the case now.
