I have a few problems with my Sony Viao PCG-FX210 laptop that I would
like to try to fix instead of getting another laptop. This laptop as
been great and I'd really rather not shell out a lot of money to get a
new one if I can make this one last till it totally dies.
One problem is with the power jack. The piece inside my laptop that I
connect the power plug into is broke, the plastic is cracked so it
won't hold the plug in place. So it is very touchy when I try to plug
it in. If the plug doesn't stay in the right way, the computer shuts
off. And my batteries are dead, so I'm kinda screwed there. I found
the part I believe I need off a seller on Ebay, but before I buy it, I
would just like to know, would this part be easy to replace in the
laptop? Anything I need to know before I try doing it?
Also, my left hinge (when facing the laptop)is broke. When I open up
my laptop, the casing on the lid is being pushed apart along the side
where that hinge is. So, I like to replace that as well. Anything I
should know about that as well? Would I be taking a chance of hurting
my screen when trying to replace a hinge?
Any advice you can give me would be greatly apprecited!
Thanks!
