Actually, a year ago I replaced the original 512Mb (2 x 256 SODIMMs)
with 2Gb (2 x 1Gb SODIMMs) OCZ memory. I reinstalled the original
memory and the same error occured. I also formatted the HD and re-
installed the OS and all the original drivers, same error. I believe
it is a hardware problem. As I mentioned before I have not noticed
the middle fan on the bottom come on at all, maybe the video chip set
is overheating. Luckily I had a bad "send it in for repair" after I
got it, made a big stink and was given a 2 year extended warrantee.
So back it goes for repair, I hope they do it right but I won't hold
my breath.
By the way, I'm kinda fanatical about keeping the fans/heat sinks
dust free. This unit gets HOT!! even under normal operating
conditions.
Thanks for all the expert advice, you'll probably be hearing from me
soon. (about the day I get the notebook back probably)
