Thanks for the reply Russ. Well It was not sold as a refurbished, it was supposed to be new retail. I bought it from Best Buy and actually the salesperson told me it had a year warrenty at the time of purchase, however when I called about the broken key, I was told the warrenty was only 90 days. A call to Toshiba gave the same results and neither would repair it unless I was willing to pay for the part and repair. The model number on the back says PSL2XU-00Q00P. The keyboard model number says A000001030X5099839W12. I googled A000001030 and that is where I found one that cost $49.
Thanks again Russ.

It would be nice to know the part/model of the machine to give you the part number and all the machines that you can cross it from. I have a feeling you m ight have bought a depot rebuilt 6100 or similar.
5 mo
nths into owning a new Toshiba Satellite (90 day warrenty!) the keyboard space bar suddenly quit working. I have the keyboard out, and have attempted repair to no avail. Anyone on the list ever succeeded in a laptop keyboard repair? The cheapest replacement I can find is $50 with shipping.
