My Sony Model PCG-984L LCD is very faint...using the brightness control 

does no good. I'm guessing it's a bad back light. Can those be replaced 

separately or is just as easy as I've done before....just replace the

Try 
replacement of the FL Inverter first, it powers the lamp.
