This repair involves a prettty complete disassembly of the unit to get
to the bottom of the motherboard to remove the old jack, which is
probably broken, and then to solder in a new one. There is no easy
fix that is any good. If you don't get it repaired properly and
continue to use it by manuevering the plug around to get a temporary
contact, you will eventually overheat the motherboard and probably make
it un-repairable, at which point the only solution will be to replace
the motherboard itself. ($$$$$$$) Which, by the way, will come with
the same POS plastic jack installed, which will also eventually come
loose leaving you with the same problem. I repair a lot of laptops with
this problem, of all brands, and to avoid callbacks with the same
problem within the year warranty I give, I use a good metal frame jack
that I mount on the case in the hole in front of the old jack. Then I
hard wire the new jack into the motherboard. This is a very good
solution to this problem, but often also involves grinding plastic or
aluminum structure away so the jack fits properly, and is not a
do-it-yourself project.

Given the intricate nature of repairing a bad power jack, I would say
instead of fixing it, work around the problem.

I have a Thinkpad with that same problem. I've decided to get a
docking station or port replicator and have it power up the laptop
through the power jack on the docking station.

Yes, that means the laptop must use that docking station in order to
charge it up. Yes, you may need to tote it around, too. My
Thinkpad's port replicator light enough, but it cost me a lot less
than having it repaired.
