Greetings to all from a new
reader.
I have been given this computer with
absolutely nothing and all memory removed.
I am disabled and need a laptop that I can
use away from home and when the power goes out.
As a ham, I need this to put my logs on as
well as other necessary items.
Unfortunately, a standard computer
and CRT with a long extension just wont do !
I am looking for a user and if possible, a
service manual for the 1750.
Also, I need a 256meg memory module in sd
ram.
Is there a start-up disk available for this
model ? If so, can someone assist with a copy of this please ??
Maybe I am asking to much. If I am, my
apologies but I have no other option but asking for help.
Regards,

Go to http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Armada%201700
which is the search results for memory modules at Crucial.com and you
will see that the most memory you can put in there is a stick of 128Mb,
which when added to the 32 Mb unremovable, gives you a maximun of 160 Mb.
You should go to HP (Compaq) support and find the user manual for your
model.
What operating system is in it now? Does it boot up? Why do you need a
Start up disk? Or are you asking for a copy of the Restore disk?
This is a realy old, obsolete computer, so don't expect much in the way
of performance.
