Did you try the new hard drive in the other computer also? I
would first
make sure I really had a good hard drive, without any doubt.
Then make
sure you don't have any jumpers installed on the 4 on the
end by
themselves, which would make it other than a Master stand
alone drive,
which is the only drive your laptop can detect. Then put it
in your
laptop, and enter BIOS to see if it is listed there. I
think you have
too many unknowns at this point to assume a bad motherboard.
