just download nlite software from net and add sata hdd files
from compaq support and drivers site and enjoy winxp

already has a later version. XP is older than Vista. You can however, make a
dual boot machine if XP is the FIRST version installed and you partition the
hard drive to allow room for another (VISTA) operating system. I have done this
to several laptops. I have NOT tried to re-partition a hard drive that already
has Vista on it although theoretcally it's possible. I'd suggest
PartitionMagic8 (it's what I use). Create a logical partition on the hard drive,,,it'll
be at the back end of the hard drive. Now using the same program, move your
existion partition (the one with Vista on it) to that new logical partition, OR
copy it if you must to that new partition. Now format that OLD partition (the
one that's in the front end of the hard drive), and install XP to it. I've
never tried this, nor had a need to. I cannot guarantee it will work, but
theoretically it should
