Can you tell if the lid hinges are still intact, or are
there parts that
have seperated from the place they should be attached to?
If the
structure is still good, you might just need a set of hinges
that still
have the required stiffness in them. I usually just search
for these on
Ebay.
If there is structural damage, you will either need to find
a whole new
lid or get it repaired. I have done some badly damaged
units where the
only repair was to add metal plates inside the lid to
reattach the
hinges and then JB weld them in place.
