It's worth noting that the cmsmatrix.org site has some dated
information
about Joomla. The matrix rates Joomla 1.0.7, and the
current release is
1.0.11. It seems like others have found add-ons to 1.0.x to
accomodate
UTF-8, and Joomla 1.5, now in beta, should have native
support for Unicode.
South Carolina State Library is using Joomla
(http://www.statelibra
ry.sc.gov/) and UT-Chattanooga will be launching a
Joomla site in the next few weeks (http://www.lib.utc.edu).
We're currently using Joomla for a staff intranet and will
likely revamp our
public site using Joomla over the next several months.
