Not this list member -- I especially appreciated reading Dee
Ann
Allison's comments as an actual owner. I will say that, for
something
widely reported to suck, it sure gets a lot of attention.

They exist for the purpose of discussion, but when people
carry on actual discussions list members rapidly tire of
them.

I must say that, although I'm getting a little weary of the
topic, I
think it's valuable to get some many opinions and
viewpoints,
especially, as Larry says, those of an actual owner. I'm
amazed at the
volume of comments and the vehemence of the views expressed
- I can't
remember the last time a new product drew such attention on
any of the
lists I'm on. I hope it reflects the future success of ebook
readers in
general; and if it helps bring an end to the format wars,
more power to
it!

I've been lurking (since I'm not a likely purchaser), but I
think the
discussion has been interesting--and, for those who tire of
the Delete key,
I'll note that Gmail nicely stores all the comments in a
single thread, so
you can just Delete once a day or so.

>>list members rapidly tire of them
I suppose "rapidly" is a relative thing.....
I, for one, have been awaiting someone to comment, like
sometimes
happens, on the appropriateness to this list, or not, of
this topic on
textual, non-web, books loaded, not via the web, on a
stand-alone,
not-web-connected device.....

Well I guess you did that yourself, in an oblique way. Nice
bank shot....
