The White Plains Public Library is currently accepting
applications for
a full-time Electronic Services Specialist with shared
responsibility
for daily operation of library systems and technology-based
information
services. Experience with SirsiDynix Unicorn, Linux, Apache,
MySQL, PHP,
PERL, JavaScript and Windows PCs networked within a Novell
Netware
environment preferred.

The successful candidate must have: a strong background in
information
technology, a commitment to applying information
technologies in a
public library environment, and experience managing
relevant
applications, such as an integrated library management
system, website,
communications technology and networked services.  Must have
strong
problem solving skills and the ability to work
independently.  Must have
strong written and oral communication skills and be able to
work in a
fast paced environment with a diverse population. Some
evening and
weekend hours will be assigned.

Starting  salary $55,387 - $63,976
Relevant experience required along with ALA/MLS or MS in
Computer
Science, Information Technology or allied field OR 
combination of
relevant experience and Bachelor's Degree in Computer
Science,
Information Technology or Certification as a Novell
Certified Network
Engineer (CNE), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
or Microsoft
Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) OR Training and experience
comparable
to above.
