The following may be of interest to you. The British Library
is hosting The
Fifth International Conference on Preservation of Digital
Objects (iPRES
2008) at Conference Centre in St Pancras on 29&20
September. The event is
one of the major conferences in the digital preservation
calendar and
attracts around 250 delegates from around the world and 50
speakers.
Previous hosts include Cornell University, NY; Nestor in
Germany and the
Academy of Sciences in Beijing.
 
We would now like to issue the Call for Papers to invite
abstracts. The
iPRES Programme Committee has asked that I send this through
to you. I am
attaching the Call for Papers and a summary web-notice /
e-mail below.
Please could you issue to your member community? There is a
link in the
e-mail to the event web-pages at www.bl.uk/ipres2008
<http://www.bl.uk/ipres
2008> and the mailbox to submit papers. The website
is live. Registration will open on 12 May. If you need any

iPRES 2008 Call for Papers
The British Library Conference Centre, St Pancras, bond
29 & 30 September 2008
 
Submission of abstracts is invited to The Fifth
International Conference for
Preservation of Digital Objects (iPRES 2008), which will be
hosted by The
British Library at its Conference Centre, in St Pancras,
bond, on 29&30
September.
 
The theme of this yearsı conference is: Joined up and
Working: tools and
methods for digital preservation. Papers are invited which
present
substantial new results, contribute to conceptual
foundations of digital
preservation or show novel applications of work. Empirical
evidence
demonstrating what works and what doesnıt is also welcome
 
Details about the Call for Papers and iPRES 2008 can be

Abstracts should be submitted in AAAI Style and restricted
to two pages
maximum including title, author but excluding references.
Submissions should
be made through the mailbox: http:papersbl.uk/ipres08 by 28 May 2008.
Speakers will be notified of acceptance on 14 June.
 
iPRES is a series of international conferences which seek to
address issues
relating to digital preservation. The conference brings
together experts and
practitioners across the spectrum of digital preservation
disciplines.
Registration will open on 12 May 2008.
