I tried to stop lighty with "lighttpd -f
/usr/local/etc/lighttpd.conf stop" on
FreeBSD. I get a "can't bind to port: 80 Address
already in use".  I can
"killall -9 lighttpd" but my fcgi accept loop is
still running. Or I can just
"kill (pid)" and everything is gone.

Interestingly, when everything is dead, running
"lighttpd -f .... stop" actually
starts lighty.  What's with that?

Isn't there a cleaner way to do this?

$ /usr/local/etc/init.d/lighttpd start
$ /usr/local/etc/init.d/lighttpd stop

if there is not init.d try rc.d instead.

Usage: /usr/local/etc/rc.d/lighttpd.sh
