Thread: Complete NPE-driver from sda1?

Complete NPE-driver from sda1?

Hi,

i'm playing with kexec on my Debianslug (bootstrap, 2.6.19)
and try
booting a second kernel completely from sda1. At the moment
i can
start the second kernel and can login via serial terminal.
Now i have two problems:
The --append parameter from kexec do not work, so i must set
the
kernel-cmdline before compile.
The second problem is, i have not ethernet connection. How
can i run
the NPE-driver? I think the new open source driver needs the
microcode
that is normally installed on the flash and i found a
ixp4xx-npe
package that installs NPE-B on /lib/firmware/ . But where do
i find
and install the driver?
The second kernel is still the same version as the first, so
i can use
the same rootfs and kernel-modules on sda1 for both kernels.
This
simplified my first tests.

Any ideas?

Regards
Sinclair
