Live Audio Video Streaming

Hi,
i am using oRTP to stream live audio(u-law 8Khz) and Video(H.263) over the local network(100 Mbps LAN). The audio video stream is received by the VLC Media Player (version:0.8.6d) on Windows.
During the startup live audio and video is played back instantaneously in the VLC. But as the time progress i am seeing delay of about 3  to 8 seconds in the live audio video playback.
Does this problem is anything to do with oRTP settings or this is VLC player issue? Please let me know.

Warm Regards,
pramod

The problem might come from your application that sends
erroneous timestamp or
unsynchronised streams, or from VLC but usually VLC is quite
stable.

Thanks Simon. In the application audio timestamp is incremented by 20 ms(i.e. 160 ) and for the video time stamp i am getting the current time and multiplying it by 90. (video framerate is 30) The VLC plays back both the audio and video stream synchronously. ( i.e playback has the lip sync) But the issue is latency initially there will not be any latency but as the time progress there is delay of 3 to 8 seconds. Does the application needs to change anything for the rtcp timestamp?
