Acme Mobile is a rapidly growing regional distributor of mobile entertainment products – we sell fun things for people on the go. We currently sell games, images, audio and video to mobile phone users throughout Southeast Asia, India, China and beyond

We are looking for a visionary, creative, and driven developer to help to make the software that delivers the fun. While your experience is important to us, so are your passion and desire. We are only looking for people who are serious about building something great.

If you know content management, web standards, PHP and MySQL, reporting and analysis, and I18N, and care deeply about customer experience and elegant code, you could be the person we're looking for. Experience with building WAP sites and billing via SMS would be a plus.

Here's specifically what you would do:

Development (primary job):

• Developing and maintaining our content management system for delivering mobile content via WAP, SMS, IVR, the Internet and beyond

• Building user interfaces and usable processes for system contributors, administrators, and customers

• Building and maintaining key databases

• Testing all development work and all systems requiring regression testing

• Keeping abreast of developments in technology related to areas related to Acme Mobile';s platforms

Operations (also very important!):

• Support backend logic for high-traffic WAP and Web storefronts throughout Southeast Asia

• Integrating our content provisioning system with Telcos and portals throughout the region

• Resolving and troubleshooting problems or faults when they occur

• Ensuring that all work carried out is well documented, and that the documentation is accessible to all parties.

• Monitoring system and application availability and performance to ensure high reliability

• Assisting in setting up and administrating hardware, networks, and software

• Supporting customer service requests and interactive marketing campaigns

It would be great if you had the following knowledge, skills and experience:

1. 2+ years of professional experience

2. In-depth knowledge and demonstrable experience of working with mod_Perl, Perl, JavaScript, HTML, XML, PHP, WML, and SQL

3. Demonstrable experience with xhtml/css, Ajax libraries, MySQL, UNIX/Linux, Apache, Zend framework

4. Previous experience with Telco VAS connections and billing processes is a plus

5. Previous experience developing e-commerce systems

6. Fully aware of cross-platform and browser compatibility issues

7. Excellent written and spoken skills

8. A university degree or equivalent

You must be a self-starter and comfortable working independently. Hours may be flexible.
