Hi,

I have started this discussion on 15th of september last
year. Problem  
was, that my DWL-122 stick after a possible problem on
startup  
computer had a problem with firmware. After modprobe ...  
/proc/net/p80211/wlan0/nsd shows only zeros. And I have
found out,  
that on win98 with windows driver this stick works. On
september I had  
an older system with linuxwlan 0.2.1pre...

Now I've started a new try: other computer, OS is a SuSE
10.1,  
linux-wlan is a 0.2.3 (I have compiled prism2dl for self
from source,  
because it's not in suse rpm's included). Below you can
see, what  
happens now. In short: after plug in stick and modprobe, the
nsd file  
shows the well known zeros, after switch to fwload state it
shows NIC  
and PRI version but no AP version. Download ru010803.hex
with prism2dl  
failed, it looks so, that something is wrong with PDA.

Is somebody out there, which could tell me, what I could try
or do.  
Maybe I need only a new PDA-record, but where to get it.

Now the terminal log, it's to see, that the records, which
fail on  
prism2dl are not in the PDA below. Unfortunately I dosn't
know to less  
about PDA and what this records mean or how it works to
decide, what's  
wrong. Even what's going wrong in september. I think, it
was a wrong  
download in startup script. But I'm not sure.

And ndiswrapper is also not working, even if I don't want
to use it,  
but the problem there is an other problem (driver isn't
loadable  
because a segfault) And, of course, it's nothing to discuss
here.

Why do you think you need to load firmware to the device?
I don't need to (having a DWL-122, too).
I fire up my (a little bit hacked) init.d/wlan start script
(see
attached) and (mostly) it works. 
(Sometimes I have problems; I have to unplug and re-plugin
the
stick in that case and try again, but in generall it works
this
way.)

I have deleted /sbin/prism2dl, so that's why the error
messages
at the end come up, but it works.
