Manager Software Engineering -Kernel
Description of Job Duties:
Redback Networks is seeking a Software Engineering Manager
to lead our
Kernel Software Team. As a manager of this team, you will be
responsible for
all functional management responsibilities, including
managing the project
commitments, development process and interface to other
functional groups.
This position would require you to hire the team members and
bring them up
to speed. You will write performance reviews and evaluate
future needs of
the group in terms of both equipment/tools and personnel.
The group is
responsible for both new product development as well as
sustaining work.
Description of Job Qualifications:
The candidate should have at least 5 years of software
management experience
preferable in the area of low-level software development. A
strong candidate
would have background in low-level software development and
working
experience managing projects and commitments.
This position requires knowledge of real-time Operating
Systems, drivers,
embedded software, and networking. The candidate should have
working
knowledge of the software development cycle,
hardware/software interfaces,
and operating systems fundamentals.
This position requires experience in leading group of
embedded designers.
This position requires knowledge of real-time Operating
Systems, drivers,
embedded software, and networking. A strong background in
the development of
"transport grade" software is a must. Experience
with ATM and/or ENET
products is a definite asset. The candidate should have a
strong background
in networking, threaded programming environments, and
hands-on expertise
with one or more RTOS. A minimum of 10+ years of embedded
software
development experience, 5+ years experience as a team lead
or manager, and
BS/MS in a related discipline is required.
A general understanding of ISO standards related to both
Quality Management
Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
