Primary Responsibilities: 	

* Design and implement the hosting infrastructure for
dependable, scalable
and high performance, high volume web applications. 
* This critical, high profile position will be responsible
for architecting
and implementing a new multi tier application hosting
environment using
Apache, Tomcat, leading J2EE middleware like Jboss,
Websphere, Weblogic etc.
and Oracle 10g.
* You'll have key responsibility to design and launch a
leading edge, Linux
and/or Solaris-based architecture that will be the backbone
of our
technology infrastructure. 
* You will be working with the best minds, tools and
technology available to
achieve our lofty goals. 
* Our ideal candidate is a dynamic individual comfortable in
a fast-paced
work environment. 
* You will be skilled in supporting 24x7x365,
mission-critical
infrastructure, including trouble shooting and problem
diagnosis,
performance monitoring and optimization, and systems and
application
maintenance and improvements. 
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills and very
good leadership
skills. Ability to evaluate, recommend and convince
management in
infrastructure purchase decisions.

Qualifications: 	
* 7+ years experience in Solaris, Linux and Windows Server
2003, ideally in
a high volume transaction-oriented environment. 
* Significant experience in Infrastructure sizing, capacity
planning and
performance monitoring and management
* In depth experience with storage management, backup and
recovery
methodologies in a high volume, high availability, RDBMS
environment
* Ability to diagnose server and network problems
effectively to solve
issues that arise, and the ability to think ahead and
implement strategies
that avoid issues altogether
* Strong experience in shell scripting/automation (PERL,
bash, sed/awk, TCL,
etc)
* Thorough and detailed understanding of native OS
performance monitoring
tools like top, free, netstat, vmstat and third party
application monitoring
tools like Sitescope, Big Brother, Quest Performasure,
Jprobe etc.
* Significant experience with the administration of
Solaris/Linux servers
running highly available Oracle databases
* Proven expertise with installing / configuring /
maintaining these
services: Oracle 10g, SAMBA, NFS (client and server),
Apache, Sqlserver,
SSH, RSH, Sendmail/Postfix, SNMP, BIND, SMTP
* Detailed understanding of TCP/IP networking and security,
including
experience with NIDS.
* Working knowledge of Java applications architecture
(including Java
coding, technologies and best practices)
* Ability to work independently and coordinate problem
resolution with
subject matter experts
* Experience with Windows and Unix networking
* Experience in designing and implementing disaster recovery
strategies
