Dear members,

I am proud to announce that we will proceed with the list
migration
during the night between the 31st March and the 1st April
(at 0h00
GMT).

>From this point on, emails should be sent to these
addresses :

- linux-audio-devlists.linuxaudio.org for the developper
mailing list
- linux-audio-userlists.linuxaudio.org for the user mailing
list
- linux-audio-announcelists.linuxaudio.org for the announce
mailing list

The following aliases have been defined, to make it look
nicer.
Consider them as shorter equivalents :

- ladlists.linuxaudio.org for the developer mailing list
- laulists.linuxaudio.org for the user mailing list

No alias for the announce list since it is an open list
(non
subscribers are allowed to post) and we fear a increase in
spam with a
too short name.

Also, to respond to a request to a few of you working with
command
line mail clients, the list tag at the beginning of the
subject line
will be shortened :

[LAD] for linux-audio-dev
[LAU] for linux-audio-user
[LAA] for linux-audio-announce

You may need to update your email filters accordingly.

Those of you posting on the old addresses will get a message
providing
you with the new email to use.

ladlinuxaudio.org
laulinuxaudio.org

work too! - there's no shortcut for the announce list!

i suggest not to filter on Subject but on Email-Header:

X-BeenThere: linux-audio-devlists.linuxaudio.org
X-BeenThere: linux-audio-userlists.linuxaudio.org
X-BeenThere: linux-audio-announcelists.linuxaudio.org

cheers,
robin

Sure. It will probably take care of the problem but the
X-headers are not
standard (although they are used quite frequently). The
List-ID is.

I'm not sure how it would look but something like this I
expect. Mind you. Not
an
but rather a dot(.) in between.

List-id: lad.lists.linuxaudio.org
List-id: lau.lists.linuxaudio.org
List-id: laa.lists.linuxaudio.org

I would love if the current List-id's could be kept, except
the
list-addresses. I already filter by List-Id, but only up to
the mail
address:

:0:
* ^List-Id: A list for linux audio users
lau

etc.

If the "human-readable" names of the lists would
stay the same, no
further work on procmail or other filters would be needed.

Ciao

SAME HERE. LIST-ID HEADERS ALLOW YOU TO "REPLY TO
LIST" IN CLIENTS THAT
SUPPORT IT - NO NEED TO "REPLY TO ALL", CREATING
CONFUSING EXTRA TO:
ADDRESSES, OR TYPE IN THE ADDRESS MANUALLY AND LOSE THE
IN-REPLY-TO
HEADERS, THUS RUINING THE THREAD STRUCTURE.
