Folks,

There are no pd packages for X86_64 on CCRMA. Can I
install the ones
for i386 instead and will it then work with everything else
?

Thanks.

I have not tried. Most probably not - pd does not yet
(AFAIK) work on 64
bit architectures. 64bit linuxes are not yet a good choice
if you are
interested on programmable media creation environments like
pd,
supercollider or chuck (cm/clm/cmn do work).

Note that most recent versions of Pd finally do run okay on
64 bit, I
guess starting with 0.40. I didn't try myself, though.

Ciao

Do you specifically mean the 32 bits packages running on a
64-bit
platform ?

Cheers.

No, I'm talking about real 64-bit Pd. There was a nasty bug
with the
arrays and [table]s, when Pd was compiled for 64 bit. This
seems to be
solved AFAIK. At least there's an amd64 package for Pd in
Debian with
no open bug reports in regard to arrays.

Do you know if this bug is solved in the current pd-extended
cvs?
