Saw a similarly titled thread, and wondered if anyone knows
of an
application that works in the opposite direction
(generating
keypresses from midi data). I started writing one myself
but
only got as far as generating a single keypress.. and it was
all
hardcoded in Java (which I really don't like)..

Any python extensions that might help??

I'm not not aware of any specific tool for it..

what about C? and X-windows? the Xtst-extension has a
key-event-faker:

example: http://mir.dnsali
as.com/oss/genxkey

you could glue it to a MIDI-receiver. maybe even a
shell-pipe with
aseqdump..
