Hello, I am a user of Redhat8.0.
I found that this OS had become End of Life, so I think to
obtain new
OS. I chose Fedora 6 and downloaded the necessary iso files:
FC-6-i386-disc1.iso
FC-6-i386-disc2.iso
FC-6-i386-disc3.iso
FC-6-i386-disc4.iso
FC-6-i386-disc5.iso
from a certain mirror site(SDsums were checked).
Then I burned them on 5 CDs by using gtoaster1.0.
There was no chance of selection whether to burn as data CDs
or
bootable CDs.
I tried to boot Fedora6 on some extra old machines. All my
tries failed.
I hear I need to obtain hardware compatibility list to
install Fedora 6
correctly. Could you introduce me the list? Or could you
show me your
successful combinations of the
machines(Motherboards,HDD,etc.)?
Then I'll buy a new machine by parts.
