OK, this is just plain cool! Not just in the literal sense mind you, but this machine that makes nature's treat known as ice cream happens to be Linux powered! Tell me that isn't just neat! [Continued]

It never ceases to amaze me the sheer number of quality open source programs that are available these days. But that hardly compares to the moment when you hear of yet another player in the retail world making the switch. [Continued]

Eh, I believe that it is a total miss as it addresses nothing specific. Linspire addresses the needs of those who prefer a paid distro over that of a free one. So why do we need a Freespire again? [Continued]

I agree that it is really stupid for the Canadian Census bureau to take such a silly stance, I am not really sure that I would call their choice discrimination. So long as an analog option is made available, a choice (no matter how much BS it may be) is available. [Continued]

Wow. That pretty much clears things up on the value of Virtualization and what it means to us. Besides that, it's great to see AMD with such a firm grasp on the matter. [Continued]

OK, so there are likely to be some mixed reaction with regard to the release of an Open Source security suite. To be offered at an event in Germany, this definitely be something that I will be watching closely myself. [Continued]

This really struck me as funny. Funny in the sense that someone who apparently does not understand that OSS allows for free enterprise at its purist. Yes, many Open Source apps and the OS LInux are given away. But never mind Novell, IBM, RedHat and others who do in fact, pay American tax dollars. [Continued]

This is really good to hear. With Vista facing challenges on simply being released at all, now is the time for the kernel dev community to make each moment count. From the sounds of it, I'd say this is beginning to happen. [Continued]

OK, this sucks. It appears that a buffer overflow vulnerability is going to put Linux users on edge until a patch can be issued. Goes to show that no one OS is going to be perfect all the time. Having said this, it should be said that this is a "X Window system" problem, not that of the kernel itself. [Continued]
