I just committed the very first integration. The content of
the
database for the first time shows through in the new UI.

Still nothing else, and even this content doesn't really
work,
but as the back-end was changed quite a bit since we had our
last UI
in front, really quite some things in the controllers and
views had
to be updated to get integration even this far...

Also something quite strange is that the rounded corners
don't seem to
be working anymore. I'll look into that soon...

Besides all this I also put online a shacky sketch of how
the UI could
be improved. Some of these things were already discussed
with Andrew,
but never updated on his screenshots, and some other seem
logical. The
file can be seen here:
htt
p://logilogi.org/pub/manta/ui_improvements.png

Top to bottom:
  * The LogiLogi Network-bar (Artyom & Bruno you're free
to change the
colors, also of the blue bit to make the whole look
better... I
personally think the blue bit is too dark and too blue
;)
  * The slashes between the result (Received in the trunk).
This to
make things consistent with the link-syntax
  * The View Edit News, etc, maybe better with lowercase
first-letter,
    & hardly-visible grey/something, unless
mouse-overed, then they
    should all become visible together.
  * The block at the bottom, on this the comments & add
comment could
    be shown.

Other things we need to think about is that there can be
quite some
alternatives, siblings / offspring (lower in the tree), etc,
and that
the right-menu would thus be well off if it had some
unfolding-
capabillities.

Let me know what you two think about it,

Wybo

PS: The last old-ui revision was 481, that could come
usefull in
finding back the old css for the bits of sub-code that are
not yet
in the new css file.

Have no time to continue the integration. this weekend would
be good for
some LogiLogi stuff.
See your on the weekend.

Best regards, Artyom.

I fixed the problem of rounded boxes this evening (images
were
referred to as residing in stylesheets/images, without being
there,
now they are).

Besides I also tested Manta and OgOg with the new Rails
version:
1.2.5. All should be working fine...

Bruno & Miguel, I just had a short peek at the site you
two were
building (http://www.madeinsante
lmo.com/), and surely it's ui-
functionality really comes together greatly now...

Ok... fine

> See your on the weekend.

With Bruno too, we should be able to do quite a bit. A
downside of the
weekend is that we (I, brother, sister & mother) for the
saturday-night
will be staying on a Dutch island (Ameland) to take a short
rest, so I
won't be online around saturday-night (but on friday &
sunday)...

Hope we can get as much as possible working before the
27th.

In this context, a small addition to the mockup layout, the
rating-bar
of OgOg, possibly with a bit more conservative images:

thanks! I hope it does for the users too, we still have a
long way to
go, we want to add some ajax here and there to make it more
dynamic,
but we'll do it over time.

also we appreciate any feedback very much.

I'll be back to Bs.As. tonight and get organized to be able
to work
with LL over weekend.

Ok. For Manta over time some Ajax for the query-box would be
nice too ;)

'k Great. I hope the png I put online this week gives some
indication of where
it should be going...

Sadly enough we will be leaving tomorrow in the morning
quite early. What I was
able to do this afternoon are some controller-fixes and a
few partial (parts of
content of the UI) bugfixes... Will try to do a few more if
possible...

In the meantime I already put the slides of my presentation
of last weekend
online here as someone from the conference requested them:

http://logilogi.org/pub/TDosePresentation/TDose.html

A notable change is a thanks to the board members of the
foundation, and - not
the least - to all (most) of you!

Besides this there is also a movie available of the
presentation, and I am
receiving that one now (will put it online when I get back
on sunday).

Sorry that I couldn't do more today,
and really looking forward to your & Artyoms
UI-improvements,

Wybo

I'll work on LL over the weekend. I now also have broadband
internet
connection here in Buenos Aires and I'm much comfortable
working at
home.

Artyom, I'll get online at #logilogi at IRC so we can work
together. I
don't want to interfere in your work as you've done most of
the way
already and you also work very fast. Let me know which parts
you could
delegate to me, maybe you can work more over ruby
integration if you
think better... let me know.

I'll get online tomorrow.

Greetings

We're leaving in 20 minutes...

Mostly it will be a matter of replacing links and copying
over bits of css from
the 481-svn-version... Also some links will need adding, and
some bits of code
(drop-down- menu, and rating-bar) can more or less directly
be copied over from
OgOg (except from their looks).
