Thread: academic support campaing

Today I came up with a new twist to the previous talked idea
of
getting more of the supporting videos.

I thought about the process of inviting somebody to give
their
support. First they would have to understand what LL is and
the
proposals. Then they should record a video expressing their
support,
but then, where will we upload this videos? so for this I
thought
about the following.

We could integrate this process into the working manta. Each
person
would have an account and the video would be published
through his/her
user in a logi. I don't know what would be the best way to
approach
this. It could be done in one logi with multiple embeded
files (not
very good I'd say) or it could be each uploaded to the same
tags and
be contenders, and so this way we are also showing the way
LL works.

We could embed the videos from other video providers as we
actually
don't have support for uploading media. (with support I mean
our own
LL interpretation for each media, which would not differ
much from a
"text" logi in the beginning but still a bit
different). To embed
external media the TinyMCE actually has a "embed
media" button that is
magic and will embed content from various video providers
with just
pasting the url of the video

If we decide for some kind of promotion like this (or other)
we could
start to slowly get people to participate and with time be
ready for
example, for next DP...

What do you'al think about this?

I'm currently at the place of my mother's soon together with
my sister
and brother. We will be having a classic family-Christmas...
I still
need only about 3 days for the essay (tomorrow and then 2
after
Christmas), and then, near the end of this week (and during
some
hours between the writing and the social fun, when I might
also work
on the move from Textile to HTML) I'm fully free for Manta
again

I think the idea of having video's in which people express
their
support for Manta is quite good, although I don't think that
for this
to work we would need to have the movies inside one or
multiple logi's
persee. Just having them somewhere would already be a big
plus.

So yes a good idea for the new year!

All a happy Christmas!,

and if there are questions or ideas coming up under the
Christmas-tree
for anyone, I'll be on the list now and then... ;)

I was interviewed again by a Dutch e-zine, this time by
Livre.nl:

h
ttp://www.livre.nl/nieuws/overig/release-gnu-affero-general-
public-license-was-het-belangrijkste-24122007.html

It was about what I saw as the most important Open
Source-related
event of 2007.

It gave me plenty of opportunities again to mention and
promote
LogiLogi Manta...

Same from me to everyone...: A Happy New Year!

Now the essay-madness is over, and the family-gatherings and
the
parties, a commit of the HTML-logis will be there somewhere
this
week from me...

At the 28th of January we have the Manta day again...

It would be great if we can get something live by that date,
and I
think it should be possible...

This year will be the year!

I've had some hardware-troubles these weeks... Last week
first the hd
of my desktop started to fail (and I was only just able to
save most
data and replace it with a Raid-setup) and yesterday the
first disk of
the Raid-set of the server crashed...

Will be in the data-center to replace it tomorrowmorning
(just back
from buying a new disk for it)...

How is everybody else doing ;) ?
