Hi, my name is Bruno Sarlo. I've been working on web design
for around
7 years. I'm mostly interested on the study of the UI for
usability
and accessibility.

Also as a hobby I enjoy philosophy and discussion, and so
this is why
I enjoy this project so much. I arrived to LL when I read a
Wybo's
post over Citizendium list about a year and a half ago.

Over this project I've had the oportunity to learn lots of
things,
from my field (design), about working on a free software
project, and
obviously about Wybo's vision of LL.

It's really exiting to have new people joining the project
and hope
you all enjoy it.

This was my little introduction to you all new team
members.

Welcome!!!

ps: I've been away since I've been moving from Montevideo to
Buenos
Aires the last couple of days and still don't have good
internet
access. I'll be back to work in the next days.

Cool,
keep me updated on how the re-installation of Manta goes,

Wybo

PS: I just committed the wiring up of voting & every
controller
has a function-test now... Functional-tests should be added
for
each controller function as the standard from now on... ;)

People, the bughunt is on!
http://foundation.logilogi.org/2008/3/10/the-bughunt-i
s-on

For the Nijmegen-pplz this means every week at least 1
commit from
each of you (except from Jordy) as we agreed during the
meeting,
always report your team-mate in the svn-commit-message when
pair-
programming, and report bugs here:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=78643&
;atid=553990

And most of all: happy hunting!

The current score is (from a few bug-reports I already
allowed
last week)

---

Bart: 3 (2 bugs, 1 fix)
Miguel: 2

---

greetings,

Wybo Wiersma

Some further small things regarding the bug-hunt:

One should check the task- & bug-tracker, (submit and)
then claim bugs
before one starts fixing them in the bug-tracker:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=78643&
;atid=553990

This to prevent concurrency-problems (like two pplz/pairs
fixing the
same bug at the same time .

Also, as a relief to the 4 Informatiekundigen (= something
else
than regular Computerscience) among you, you can also start
off
with fixing bugs in the documentation in the source-files.

(the stuff in doc/manual can best be left alone, as we have
different
priorities at the moment...)

Especially usefull in terms of getting to know the project
might be
reviewing and improving the general descriptions at the top
of each
Model-file (in app/models).

Still most important is that we want to have LogiLogi Manta
working
well, and being usable. That is in the end I'd rather see X
lines of
working code than 5 X lines of Latex documentation

(and source code documentation is at somewhat like 1.5 X,
bit less
than code but still very usefull, especially if it's good
& to the
point).

Unit- & functional tests are a sine qua non (priceless
;)

Anyway, happy hunting!

PS: Nijmegen-pplz & maybe others (Miguel ?)

Don't forget our IRC-meeting of tomorrow 13:00! (12:00 gmt)

We had a good day of development yesterday with the
Nijmegen-team.
An amazing amount of bugs were found, and also some - even
if small
in size - commits fixing them were already made.

Notably by: Bart, Steffen and Feng. Good work!

---

I also just committed my own improvements, which is
title-editing
for Logi's, and some refactoring in the models.

Especially we now got rid of the ugly volatiles_hash that
was used
for caching the volatile_context_logis, and simmilar things
in the
Link, Context & other classes...
(the CacheMethodsModule which now will do caching is still a
stub,
but it's principle (nifty Ruby-code) has been tested... low
priority
for now)

Update with rake dev:update.

---

I also reviewed the Plan van Aanpak that Jordy wrote, and I
think
it is fine now...

---

Feng
I fixed the failed_login method, have a look at how I did
this in app/controllers/session_controller.rb (logging out
was not
needed, as one will not be logged in with a wrong OpenID).

Feng
& everyone: we use two spaces for indentation in the
code,
no tabs (change settings in your IDE accordingly), see
doc/GUIDE.txt
for other good practices...

Rens, Thierry and Roel; I hope you will still make a
commit before
monday, even if it is just a small one...

Anyway, it has been a good day of development yesterday, and
I am
happy about this start and the work that has been done

Happy devving!,

Wybo

Re: The bughunt!: current scores
user name

Hello everyone!

The scores at this first week of bughunting are:

---

Bart: 8 (4 bugs, 4 fixes)
Steffen: 5 (2 bugs, 3 fixes)
Miguel: 4 (2 bugs, 2 fixes)
Feng: 4 (3 bugs, 1 fix)
Rens: 4 (4 bugs, no fixes/commits!)
Roel: 4 (4 bugs, no fixes/commits!)
Thierry: 1 (1 bug, no fixes/commits!)

---

Which really is an exciting match, with Bart firmly taking
the lead
with an incredible 4 bugs and 4 fixes. Yes he really got
lucky with
the missing not-implemented pages, which gave him 3 fixes in
one go

He is closely followed by Steffen, who did some unexpected
last-
minute commits and grabbed hold of the second place by
surprise.
This shows the dynamics of everything being possible people!

And behind him neck to neck the rest of the team with
Miguel, Feng,
Rens and Roel each at four points.

While Rens and Roel did find 4 bugs each, which is good,
they still
have not made any commits. Hope they will be able to do one
in the
coming week!

And what happened to Thierry's score is up for questions,
but at
least he offered some good help with the
installation-problems that
were found...

All in all a nice result for the first week of our
bughunting party!

Tomorrow we will meet again in Nijmegen at 12:30 Dutch time.
Besides
the usual time for questions, we will be doing more
bughunting, and
hopefully also some bugsquashing!

Looking forward to seeing most of you tomorrow!

Wybo

PS: The trunk is broken at the moment (functional tests
failing on
the links_controller), probably since the last commit made
by Miguel.
Most likely I will be able to fix & commit it this
evening...

PPS: If I missed a bug or a fix, or I made any other mistake
in
counting the scores, let me know, so I can correct it...

Some more info about our fabulous bughunt, just for the
record:

There's bugs, fixes and commits. Bugs are kept in the
tracker, and
fixes are - what you'd expect - fixes for them These are
committed
to our Subversion repository, and those are commits.

Fixing things in the documentation for example, will
generally not
happen in response to a bug; still the commit made does
count as a fix
for our bughunt, to give credit for that too... (as it is
valuable and
it should enable everyone to make at least 1 commit each
week).

Also commits that complete Tasks (Miguel & Bruno are
working on these)
are generally going to be counted for the bug-hunt...

The bughunt will officially close on the 13th of April (as
mentioned
in the blog-post) at the end of the Nijmegen-team's first
2-weeks agile-
development cycle. During those last 2 weeks of the bug-hunt
bug-hunting
and programming will be done in pairs. Points earned in
pairs are going
to be shared. So if a pair finds or fixes 1 bug, each
team-member
receives 0.5 points. It's a fair world after all ;)

We are almost near the end of our good day of bughunting
here in
Nijmegen, and quite some bugs have already been found and
fixed

Hope for many more finds and fixes this week!,

Wybo

PS: It's my birthday tomorrow by the way!
