The libasyncns code is one .h and one .c file, so it can be
easily added
But if we add it, I'm not sure if it's good to try and use
systems'
version. We can't guarrantee the api stability, and if we
require the
same version as we have in the tree, we don't get much
benefit. Maybe
periodically syncing with libasyncns (it's quite stable,
almost
non-changing now, as i understand) is better solution. Also,
we want
async SRV lookups also, and the support for that is
libasyncns
svn

I'll make a patch to use libasyncns in a few days. If you're
already
done some work on this please let me know so we don't end up
duplicating
the code. Also, I'm planning to start on supporting
StartTLS
negotiation. I thought you mentioned you started working on
that, though
I can't find it in the mailing list archives now. Have you,
and if so,
how can I help out?

Regards,
Senko
