Hello all, I understand this may not be specific to loudmouth but I would highly appreciate it if someone could give me some pointers. I have been using loudmouth as a simple client to connect to a Jabber server running on port 80, with intention to let even clients behind firewalls connect.
When I use the client with other types of Internet connections, there are no problems. I can send message smoothly from the command line. However when I connect through a GPRS modem, the loudmouth client cannot connect. The program does not terminate and it does not return any error messages.
What could be the reason for the client not being able to connect? The GPRS connecition has large delays, the ICMP return time ranging from 500ms to 1200 ms. Could it be any TTL settings somewhere? I believe it should not be the GPRS service provider39;s own firewall, as the Jabber server is running on port 80. Right?
Thanks in advance to anyone with some tips. Regards, Aadit
