Hi,
I am new to loud mouth and was trying to find some sample
programs
to get a general feel of loudmouth.

Most of the pages I found online were all out dated pages,
can some
one please provide me with some pointers to some example
pages.

Also does some one know if loudmouth is supported on maemo
(the
emulator for Nokia N8x0 series). Also would it be possible
to send
customized messages using loudmouth that would be applicable
only to
the specific application I am working on.

For example say I am connected to gtalk server through my
application
and want to send info about a picture over the channel to
another
contact who i know is also online through my application.
And this
message or info should not show up on the UI but has to be
recognized
and handled only by my application and all others should
ignore it. Is
this possible on loudmouth?

Sorry about so many questions, any help is greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,
Harini

Hi,

Nice that you are looking at using Loudmouth for your
application!

What do you mean that they are out dated?

Best place to look at the examples that are bundled together
with
Loudmouth, you can view them through the browser at:

http://github.com/hallski/loudmouth/tree/master/examples

You can also look at an application using Loudmouth but that
will be a
bit less clear as it also have a lot of application specific
code.

As far as I am aware you should be able to use it on the
N8x0 series,
it is used there but mainly as part of the Telepathy stack
(ie.
providing an XMPP channel for Telepathy).

You can send application specific data through Loudmouth.
Loudmouth is
by choice low level in this respect and you build your
messages
through the LmMessage/LmMessageNode API's and can put any
data there
supported by the XMPP protocol.

We are likely to add some sugar to this layer at some point
but we
will not reduce the possibilities of the protocol.

No worries, I hope that Loudmouth can help you when
developing your
application. Also, feel free to pop by the Loudmouth
chatroom at
#loudmouth on IRC (irc.freenode.org).

Cheers,
   Mikael Hallendal
