Example application with version 1.2.3

I've tried connecting to both talk.google.com's and
jabber.org's server 
using the sample application, and at best, it hangs for a
bit after it 
connects but before authenticating and then times out. At
worst, (with 
talk.google.com) it says that the hostname is not
recognized.
