flickering lines while playing xvid

hi

ive had a problem for a while now. Since ive bought a Matrox
P650 card i 
get some kind of overlay problem when playing some xvid
files.  The 1-2 
top lines flickers during playback if black bars is in video
its just 
below the top black bar.

it only appears in some xvid-videofiles. not all.

i can see difference when i check one of theese (from matrox
powerdesk 
util) and try to play the same file. But if one of them
works others 
dont. I even got the computer to hang when using..hmm think
it was YUY2
Video Surface - force pitch to width YV12
Video Surface - force pitch to width YUY2

windows xp sp2
matrox p650 pci-e (ive tried the 3 latest drivers with no
luck)
mplayer orc1 with codecpack (i use vo=directx)

what is the res of the files with the flicker?

there is one example ..i havent got more right now but it
happens like 
50% av all xvid files so i guess it is different
res in the files where it appears.


ive just realized orc2 for win was out . Ive downloaded it
but this 
problem remains. M

i tested gl2 as video output and then its gone. But i cant
use that or 
atleast i must tweak it if possible because 720p runs slow
in opengl on 
my computer.

hmm, try -nodouble or -vc xvid (probably wont help) or -vf
scale=640:480

there are some anti-flickering options in the display
properties
in advanced tab, at least i've used them on my matrox card
in windows.

as for any other problems, you might want to find some
matrox guys to
ask.

using the anti flicker might fix regular playback with
double
