B1 = Book1
C1 = Sheet2
D1 = B2
I was able to create a hyperlink via
=HYPERLINK(INDIRECT("["&$B$1&"]"
&$C$1&"!"&$D$1))

Create a hyperlink using the excel built in facility, and
look at the
entries generated for that, both the displayed text, and the
link itself.
Other than that - perhaps you (or somebody kind) can make
better sense of
the help entry than something like
=HYPERLINK("C:Diryfileid.xls#sheet1!A5")
using the bounding ", sheetname identifier # and cell
identifier !
I'm not sure how to get the cell text included without
getting an error JimB

then how to combine these 3 columns to have a link cell in

can't work.
