What Are Syndication Feeds
O'Reilly recently commissioned Shelley Powers, a specialist
in technology
architecture and software development, to create a
comprehensive PDF
document that would help webmasters manage their incoming
and outgoing
feeds. Shelley produced nothing short of a must-have
reference for online
publishers, titled "What Are Syndication Feeds."
You can download it today
from the O'Reilly shopping cart for $7.95, small change for
a priceless doc.

Dear Mac Reader,
I'm currently heading north back to San Diego from Mexico.
I've been part
of the Mac Mania Geek Cruise that sailed to Cabo San Lucas,
Mazatlan, and
Puerto Vallarta. I'm helping teach classes while we're on
the water, and
serving as photographer when exploring the ports of Mexico.
You can see a
few of my pictures on the Macworld site (they're a sponsor
of this
conference):

/2006/02/04cruise1/index.php>
And on my The Digital Story site:
hedigitalstory.com/blog/>
Now I'm not bringing this up just to gloat. I actually
think the Geek
Cruise is an innovative way to learn more about technology.
I've avoided
cruises in the past because I wasn't sure how I'd feel
about the "down
time" while at sea. I didn't want to eat and drink
all day. But having a
conference while between ports is a great use of time. And
once in port,
everyone gets to do their own thing.
If you're thinking about what you might like to do on your
next vacation,
take a look at the upcoming Mac Mania cruises.

This is my first adventure of this type. I've really
enjoyed the
experience.
Until next time,
-Derrick
