Bottom line... I'm trying to use EVDO with my new Macbook.
My old
Sanyo 4900 modem is recognized by the Macbook, but its not
EVDO.

I tried a Sanyo 7500. The modem is NOT recognized by the
Macbook.

Now I'm trying a Fusic. I thought the connecting via
Bluetooth had a
good chance of working.

Well... I'm still having problems. Bottom line, its
doesn't work.

What phone can I use?

With the Fusic...
Connect via USB, the Mac and it doesn't recognize the
modem.
Try to access the phone as a hard drive via USB, the Fusic
reboots.
Basically its crashing and restarting. Not impressive.
Setup bluetooth. Mac does find the modem and can setup the
communication. Connect the phone when its in a 1xRTT area
and it works
generally ok. But if you have EVDO coverage, it works for a
few
seconds then the phone stops receiving any data.

It acts as if flow control is getting in the way. The Mac
reports a
baud rate of 230000. Why so low? Bluetooth is close to a
megabit.
230000 is much slower than typical EVDO speeds. The Mac acts
as if the
phone was sending the data too fast, the Mac told the Fusic
to stop
sending until it could catch up, but the message to start
sending
again never got through. I could be wrong, but that would
explain why
it works 1xRTT but not EVDO.

Any suggestions? Is there flow control when using bluetooth?
Is there
a way to control it on the Mac? ie tell the mac to use
hardware or
software flow control?

Thanks
