I was at a Cingular Store today and spoke with a rep who told me that MANY
of the current phones could now be used as an external modem (either
tethered, I-red, or Blue Tooth) using actual voice minutes (instead of a data
plan). Well, since weekends and nights are FREE, that would work for me.
I have followed these messages FOREVER. Waiting, hoping, studying.
Can a person REALLY successfully use a Cingular Phone (ANY model) as an
external modem that only uses minutes on your voice plan?
I've heard a LOT of representations... Is ANYBODY actually doing it?
I will (finally) upgrade my phone if this is true.
PLEASE, does ANYONE have any VALID current information?
