Hi all,

I am going nuts over this. I have a Motorola Razr V3xx (3G) on
Cingular. I can use the phone as a Bluetooth modem on a basic Windows
machine (using: WAP%40CINGULARGPRS.COM">WAPCINGULARGPRS.COM, CINGULAR1, *99***1#) but just
cannot get it to connect when trying on my MacBook!

The Bluetooth connects works fine.
The phone "dials", negotiates PPP & TCP/IP then disconnects with no
other message.

I've tried both 3G scripts (CID1 & CID1) and also various
userid/pass/adn combination found on the web to no avail.

The console log has the following:

Mon Mar 19 09:05:28 2007 : Motorola 3G CID2
Mon Mar 19 09:05:30 2007 : Making 3G network connection
Mon Mar 19 09:05:35 2007 : Serial connection established.
Mon Mar 19 09:05:35 2007 : Using interface ppp0
Mon Mar 19 09:05:35 2007 : Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/cu.Bluetooth-Modem
Mon Mar 19 09:05:36 2007 : PAP authentication succeeded
Mon Mar 19 09:05:40 2007 : LCP terminated by peer (^E^^^J^^^^^^)
Mon Mar 19 09:05:40 2007 : Hangup (SIGHUP)
Mon Mar 19 09:05:40 2007 : Modem hangup
Mon Mar 19 09:05:40 2007 : Connection terminated.

Any idea????

The only idea I have left is that the Mac might be trying a 3G
connection and failing while the PC could have connected only using GPRS.

Another idea would be to copy the standard Windows modem script (gulp)
and have the Mac use it, but I can't find the script on Windows...

Help!

Many thanks

CK

CK, tethering and getting an internet connection works fine via Bluetooth (no USB cable)
with my MotoRazr V3xx and my 17" MacBook Pro 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. I have heard
of others achieving intermittent Bluetooth connections only... but mine is rock solid. I am
using a connection application for Mac called Launch2Net. See my post 8427 in this
forum-- although at the time I wrote that post I didn't realize the Bluetooth connection
works so well. Good luck.
