Help,
I am all set up with a data plan on my 650 for 10MB/month (Verizon).
I am drawing a blank how to set up the phone and my PB to make it work via bluetooth, or
anything else..
I will be taking a trip within the next month and it is imperative that I make this sucker work
properly so I can get my email and stuff while I am away. The dinky screen on the 650 is too
small for my old geezer eyes.

Please, if you have the time, could you walk me through the process.
Thank you in advance.

- Do you know how to connect the Treo with the PB via bluetooth?
Instructions are available on Palm website.
- If yes, on your PB, you go to System Preferences>Network and
configure Bluetooth.
- To activate the link, open Internet Connect menu from the 'network
status' symbol; select the bluetooth tab and follow the instructions.

I don't own a Treo, but I own a Motorola Q. The principles should
work the same.

Good luck.

Hi Richard,

It seems that when I connect the Treo with the PB via B/T the box
that comes up says "no services available on this device" in red
letters.
I tried to connect but got nowhere.
I wonder if this phone will ever be able to connect, or am I out the
cost of a Treo?

Frustrated,
Sheila

Sheila,

Which PB do you have? Which OS version?

Do the PB and the Treo see each other after you turn on the
bluetooth? Bluetooth is turned off your on Treo by default to save
battery life, so you must turn it on. I couldn't tell from you
message which device gave you the message. Usually you will search
for the phone/pda from the computer. Once it tries to make a
connection, you will usually need to accept the connection from your
phone/pda (at least the first time you connect).

Play with it a little more and let's hear back from you.

Richard and Valerie,

Thank you both for your attempts to help. Your instructions were
good, but my Treo was not!
No wonder I was frustrated. The former owner did a big no no and it
screwed up the phone.
I'm going to have to go back to my Moto v325i, and pray they restored
my account so I can occasionally tether to my PB (G4 10.4.9) when I'm
on my trip, as I usually do.

Again, thank you for coming to my rescue, I do appreciate your time.

What, specifically, did the previous owner do?

Sheila,

Never forget the power of GOOGLE! Try: Verizon Treo Bluetooth DUN

DUN is dial up networking, which is suppressed by Verizon. You need a patch,
which has worked well for me.

You will find many references, here is one:
