Hi, I've been using Moto e815 for the past 2 yrs. and it's been a
great phone. I have not had a single problem with it, and i loved
it's long battery time and strong reception. Well now it's time to
change my phone, and I can choose a free phone. I have no problems
with the current phone and would keep using it if I had to, but since
I can get a free phone, why not? I've been out of the loop with
phones for a while now, so I don't know which ones are good, but I
want a phone that can at least do what I've been doing with the Moto
for the past 2 years.

Basically, I want to maintain hassle free broadband data connection
with my iBook G4 through Bluetooth running Tiger via National Access.
I don't use it much, but sometimes when I go out of town, I take it
and the internet access comes in handy. From what I remember, the
Moto was quick and easy to set-up with my iBook using some generic
verizon modem script, and I want the same easy setting up with the new
phone. Also, I purchased a trans-flash memory for the e815, so it'd
be nice (not a must) if I can move it to my new phone so that it
doesn't become useless. I have noticed that most phones are microSD
now, is that the same thing as trans-flash? Also, do all Verizon
bluetooth phones still have crippled OBEX? It's not a big deal since
I worked around that using the trans-flash. Also, it'd be nice to
have a phone with a better camera than the e815 but I'm assuming since
it's been 2 yrs. that won't be a problem.

BTW, I was offered a LG VX-9400, would this be a good choice? Would I
need to find a specific modem script or does the Verizon generic
script work with all Verizon phones?

Anyways, thanks in advance.

Min, you are not getting BROADBAND data connection unless you are
paying for one of Verizon's data plans. You are using the "backdoor"
internet access with 80-120 kb connection speeds.

I haven't been following the threads on this lately, but read message#
8318 for some info about Verizon closing down "backdoor" internet
access. The short version is that Verizon has been reported to shut
down "backdoor" access for people who try to use it via a EVDO phone.
It was the reason I chose the V325i (non-EVDO phone) several months
ago. There aren't many non-EVDO phones left in Verizon's list of free
phones.

Good luck.
