You can access EVDO broadband on Verizon with the appropriate phone(s) on a
day-to-day basis without signing up for a monthly plan. It is considered a
service that can be added or deleted from your account. I have done this
for 3-5 days at a time, three times in the last three months.
This is on a Motorola V3m, which uses Transflash (Micro-SD), is easy to set
up, and can talk to the Mac via Bluetooth for synch or for internet.
BUT: not for directly transferring pictures or music. AND: the one time I
tried to remove the Transflash, it was so hard I damaged the card
permanently.
