All of the software required for tethering has been built into OSX and other Unix flavors
for decades, and by necessity Windows. Once iPhone's Embedded rtOSX turns it on, it
should work universally.

Don't forget corporate, government, and military, who are so solidly
entrenched in the Windows cult that many won't even allow macs
(including iPhone) on their networks.
