New Phones Working With ATT?

Someone asked this same question over a month ago and there was no
answer. I am using a Mot. V551 to connect to the Internet via WAP and
Bluetooth. Like the other person noted, I will have to upgrade my
phone sooner than later.

Has anyone found a newer phone that will still work with the ATT
set-up to use it as a modem via a non-data, regular call.

Thanks a million:

Warren

I have never found a way to get my v551 to do that. I have a data
plan (MEdiaNet unlimited or whatever it's called) and it's a data
call made via the bluetooth modem and the modem scripts I downloaded.
The data usage shows up on my bill.

I had an old Nokia 5165 phone prior to that and could call up my ISP
and use minutes with a cable, but only on a PC. Could never figure
out how to do that on my Mac.

Did a lot of researching over the last 48 hrs. in reference to the
question about the V551 or similar. You can buy "unlocked" V551's on
eBay for around $60.00. (Check feedback before buying from any
merchant). The unlocked phone allows you to simply change the sim and
you are good to go. I'm buying one as a back-up.
