Kia ora,
I have just bought a Nokia 2116 CDMA cellphone with a CA-42
USB cable.
I have downloaded scripts from http://www.taniwha.org.uk.
The cellphone
modem seems to talk to my powerbook OK but I can't get
connect properly
to the NZ Telecom CDMA data network.
The number, username and password for Telecom's network
are:
number: #777 (of course)
username: mobile jamamobile
password: telecom
If I use these, however, I get 'Authentication failed'
when I dial up.
If I leave the username and password blank, I get connected,
apparently, and I get assigned an IP address. However, I
can't get any
packets moving across the connection because routing
doesn't seem to be
set up.
According to Telecom's documentation, the connection won't
work without
the username/password -- so I am surprised I get a
connection and IP
address.
Have any of you got experience with this phone on NZ
Telecom?
Thanks,
Rob Scovell
