My only input here is that the "machines" web server must have an effective authentication mechanism. For example, the machine should only respond to an encrypted message for which it has a key. Keys being pre-stored. Additionally, the client software should require strong user identification.

OK.
In the future, we must have authentification and user identification mechanism.
But for now, my question is ... how can I realize this service connecting to plcpoints.

 Hi Ikeya

There is a separate project from MatPLC that does SCADA
like interfaces.

The project for the web browser interface may be found at
http://pvbrowser.de/

Notice how they have a server to serve the interfaces, and
then some backend
deamons to get the data.
http://pvbrowser.de/pvbrowser/index.php?menu=6&top
ic=6

I believe that Rainer Lehrig (ask me directly for his email,
I don't want to
post it on the list where spammers can get it) once wrote a
deamon to get
data off the MatPLC. If you can't find it, just give me a
shout!

I am not sure this is exactly what you are looking for, but
it might just
interest you.

  Cheers,

                Mario.

Thank you Mario.
I tried GTK on early days comming into ;MatPLC, and ;found ;out some trouble when creating a new window and closing it.
So we now use curse interface, making special console with 5 keys (cursor and enter) connected to printer poert.
But it's anoying to carry a LCD display(10 inch) and above keypad which ;bring ;cables ( 3 cables ahhh...).
I understood the way to connect GTK widgets to plc points, and it worked.
Can I find it when I use "pvbrowser" ?
I've read MatPLC user's manual, and the MatPLC interfaces with the Zope application server environment using the python language interface.
Which is easier to use ?
We want the browser run on WinXP via wireless LAN.
Can Pvbrowser be installed on WindowXP ?
