Hi All,
I have been going through every subdirectory of the /io
directory to make
sure all the Makefiles include the install option, and the
code itself
compiles cleanly under the new compiler version.
I have a few questions:
Does the /io/das08 directory still make sense? Who is
maintaining this?
I don't know how to fix the Makefile in /io/das08_lib. Can
anybody help? Hugh?
Shouldn't we have a makefile under /io/pontech so we can
install this python
script/program? Should this program also go to
/usr/local/bin?
Cheers,
Mario.

Hi All,
I have just gone through all the makefiles in the /demo
directories to fix
their use of 'libtool'.
Jiri, do you think you could release your cvs lock on the
/demo/basic_il
directory so I can commit the above changes?
Once I commit this, I think we should start testing things
with a view of
making the new release. So I would like to ask the authors
of each
module/demo/etc to check whether everything seems to be
working OK.
Cheers,
Mario.

I didn't know I had a lock there... what sort of lock is
it?

No idea. This is what I get when I try to commit something
in that directory:
cvs commit: [15:38:54] waiting for jirib's lock in
/cvsroot/mat/demo/basic_il
All other directories in cvs have been updated.
Cheers,
Mario.

I think that's just a stale lock; I guess that a cvs
connection dropped at
some stage in the past and left the lock behind.
Unfortunately, I don't think
there's anything I can do about it.
I have submitted a support request at SF.

Unfortunately, I'll be out of town over Easter, so if they
ask for
supplementary information, I won't be able to respond until
Tuesday.

I just got the notification that they fixed it, and indeed
it seems to work
now.
Can you try again, please?

I am only able to test the hmi_gtk2 module and the only demo
that
currently uses this new module which is basic_gtk2. BTW the
module and
the demo worked fine using the tar file that Mario shared
with us. As a
reminder the bug that crashed the application when windows
where closed
is fixed in this new version.
The distribution I am using now no longer has a package for
gtk1 or gtk.
That means I can no longer test hmi_gtk and all the gtk
demos.
I guess we will need to upgrade all demos to the new
hmi_gtk2 module.
Just beware, the ones using the GtkExtra libraries are not
yet ported to
hmi_gtk2 module. I think it is just the widgets_gtk demo.
There is no coding necessary to make the port the only thing
required is
to rebuild the user interface using glade2 and some very
simple changes
to matplc.conf, demo script and Makefile. See the changes to
the config
file, the demo script and the Makefile from basic_gtk to
basic_gtk2 as
an example.
Any takers? I could start doing this but I can only do it at
a very slow
pace given my current workload.

Juan Carlos Orozco
